Description of clothing for possible dating of photo:
Mr Steward is dressed in a dark wool suit with white shirt, collar, and tie.The jacket is a plaid pattern, while the trousers appear to be a solid dark color. The single-breasted jacket has buttons up to mid-chest, with peaked lapels that are very wide; there is a single button at each wrist. The shirt, collar, and cuffs are white; a plain white tie is held with a four-in-hand knot.

Mrs Steward wears a white cotton blouse and skirt. The blouse has an elaborately-gathered yoke and high neckline with narrow frill (but no collar); the blouse below the yoke is full and loosely tucked into the skirt's gathered waistband. The sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and the wrist, creating a moderate puffiness; the wristband (partially visible) appears to be embellished with lace, and the sleeve ends in a wide ruffle with a narrow frill (matching the neckline frill).

Mrs Steward's wavy brown hair appears to be pinned back, then swept forward across her forehead in a diagonal from left ear to right crown.
